Many cyclists ride there bikes with wheels fitted with Presta (sclaverand, french) tubevalves. They (and most of all shops) are not aware of the potential problem one can then have when travelling.
Problem is that in very many parts of the world tubes with Presta (sclaverand, french) valves are Not commonly available. Sometimes even not at all.
Solution (not) for those people is to buy tubes with Schrader (carvalves, american) valves. They are available everywhere, guess why, but anyway. But the problem is that the 8mm Schrader valves do not fit in the 6mm Presta (sclaverand) rimholes.
A Presta (sclaverand) ❌ valve (left) and a Schrader ✔️ valve (right).
So 👷♀️ Drill 👷 the valveholes of your rims up to 8.5mms !
Not later but Now, on forehand.
Or you could be a (very) long way from home tent someday ...
